barcode 80025 75540

i dunno with you but i really find it weird finding a barcode in the middle of the book. bought this book from power books at shangri la mall a few days ago and was really surprised to see this barcode lying at the center of the book. completely new with sticker on and with those tiny wires, i dunno what you call those tracking thingy that is supposed to set off the alarm when you get our of a store without paying. nah i paid for the book and the book was sealed when i got it and the alarm didnt went off as well when i passed thru it but really, i just find it weird finding a bar code in the middle of a book. so it says barcode 80025 75540 wonder why they would put it in a book, was it a mistake or what? i dunno, just find it weird.

so anyone found a bar code in your book?

Just found one in a book of mine...kind of wierd. Wish I knew who, what, when, where, and WHY?

These are security labels used for checkpoint security towers. There placed in the middle of the book to make it harder for shoplifters to find them. As for the numbers, there actually the phone number for the manufacturer checkpoint security.

Hi,
We use these stickers on our products as anti-theft.
It's just a little RFID wich the portals at the exit will respond to.

I bought a late 1990's Phenoix Coyotes alternative Keith Tkachuk jersey from eBay and the sticker was located to the left of the starter tag on the neck. The bar code is pealing and it looks like it might be a security tag.

Well guys (& gals) I just found one today, in NC, on a Faux Paint Kit, covering up the original barcode. I took my hairdryer to it, to get to the real barcode and was amazed! The backing is aluminum foil or something metal. This has me wondering who would go to such trouble & expense.

I found the same thing in my new book. I think it's really odd. I quickly researched about it and a lot of people also find it in their notebook. Probably it's nothing I should worry about LoL

I just found the same barcode on the bottom of a pair of Y3 trainers on EBay!! Weird

It's nothing more than a tag to prevent shoplifting. As someone said, RFID. The reason it didn't set things off when you walk out of the store after buying it is that they have a pad thing that they swipe it over that deactivates the alarm portion.

I found one too, in a hardback copy of Dan Brown's Inferno. Could be harmless RFIDs, or could be something else. Personally, I think they could be dangerous in the wrong hands. Protect your rights.

I found one with the same exact numbers in my book I got from books-a-million and I was like ooooo what is this, but I guess it's just some anti theft thing I literally felt like I won some awesome amazing ticket some special thing for special someones and what if they put them in your books to track the specials to know where they are just in case they can only save a few people in the event of some sort of world ending thing and people only tell us theyre anti theft stuff so we ignor it. But I guess it's just one of those anti theft things whatever.

Found it in "Joker" the graphic novel. Bought this book in 2014 in Arkansas. Crazy how the same number travels the world

This is a code the government (CIA, NSA) uses to track your activity through your phone and credit card. All people who have the same number on will be considered belonging to the same terrorist network and eliminated some day. If you find it, stick it to someone else's clothes or where he can't find it...

Just found it in a book in Australia! It was on the first page of a new chapter so thought maybe someone had been using it as a bookmark - makes a lot of sense to be an anti-theft thing though.

I just received the book, "Banjo: An Illustrated History," which I bought used off Amazon. This UPC label was between the pages. 3 July 2017.

Unlike most, I found mine hidden inside my wallet. I recently passed through the indonesian international airport where my wallet and phone had been taking a while to get through the security scanners and checks. I was becoming suspicious but thought nothing of it after i shortly recieved them. However, having entered back in australia, the detectors in all the stores I walked through went off. So i opened my phone and wallet and found the stupid barcode hidden underneath my cards in my wallet. Could have been the security check, could have been before that. But ive had this wallet for a while now as well as the phone.

Anonymous said...

Like Mike, I've found mine between cards in the wallet. I was shopping and all detectors were turning on when I passed near them. I don't know where it got there..really odd.
